Lauren Tresp
Southwest Contemporary
Lauren is the editor-in- chief and publisher of Southwest Contemporary, a free periodical that highlights, fosters, and critically reflects on arts and creative culture of and for Santa Fe and New Mexico.
Southwest Contemporary reviews the arts with intelligence, integrity and a dedication to inclusivity and seeks to encourage the spirit of adventure, experimentation and progressive thought. Southwest Contemporary is a singular and crucial source of arts writing in Santa Fe, and serves multiple, symbiotic missions: it represents the unique creative culture of Santa Fe to regional, national, and international arts communities, and it brings regional and national content and perspectives to its Santa Fe audiences.
Lauren became editor and publisher in early 2016 and has a background in Medieval and Renaissance Art History and Humanities. She has worked in and written about contemporary arts since 2012. She received her MA in Humanities with an emphasis in Art History from the University of Chicago and her BA in Art History and History from the University of California Los Angeles. She is also certified yoga instructor and loves to experiment in the kitchen.
